returned2Not long after discovering the original French series “Les Revenants” on Sundance, I learned that there would be an American remake. Is there any way that a new version of this eerie tale of long-dead loved ones coming back to a small mountain town could work?After seeing the premiere episode, the answer is … almost. There is plenty of creepy atmosphere, and fine acting (Jeremy Sisto, Mark Pellegrino, Kevin Alejandro), but if you’ve seen the original, don’t expect anything new. Series premiere, 10 p.m. Monday, March 9, on A&E.

returnedHalloween is over, but if you’re still in the mood for something unsettling and creepy, be prepared to lose an afternoon to Season 1 of this French series about a village dealing with returning residents, long thought dead. Yes, Season 2 is currently filming — due in 2015 — and an American remake (sigh) is in the works. Marathon begins at noon Sunday, Nov. 2, on Sundance.
